In May 2017, 20 Montreals attended a meeting of Francophone owners in the region of Angoulême in Charente, France.
The participation was organized by Jimmy Cornet, who brought his Montreal from Montreal, Canada, to the event and received an award for it. One colour chart included the finishes offered for the Montreal and the GT Zagato.
These tours included sightseeing and stops at many unique and interesting Canadian landmarks. Thursday 13 July included an Autocross (solo racing with cones) for those so inclined, or you could use the day to enjoy some of the available pre-arranged tours and activities in the city.
In the early evening, there was a traditional meal at a rustic maple syrup making farm. On Friday 14 July, there was a special Montreal Owners brunch at 10h00, followed by a fun 'Gimmick Rally', set to include many of the wonderful landmarks of Montreal, including a (slow speed) driving tour of the Formula One track, several great photo opportunities, and both city and country driving.
Other Italian cars also joined in separate groupings, and all the awards were made during the Awards Brunch from 12h00 to 14h00 before the convention ended. It is 8 km/h lower for a vehicle without front spoiler.
The contact information for the convention chairman, Alex Sandor Csank, is Tel ( 1) 514 7719513, Email alfaromeodriveralex (at) One reason that many Montreals have survived in excellent condition is that, after fabrication at Caselle, the steel bodywork was treated by the advanced finishing plant which had been set up by Bertone at Grugliasco in October 1970.
The inclusive price was about EUR 1100 per team, and to avoid VAT having to be charged registered participants were sent an invoice from Crowner's Foundation about two months before the meeting.
